Christie Clinic's department of Information Systems is seeking a full-time Telecommunications Network Administrator from Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm at the Fields clinic, with the ability to travel to satellite clinics to support the department.
Duties include the maintenance and support of the Christie Clinic Telecommunications Computer Network systems including: servers, phone switch, communications equipment, phone sets etc. Also, troubleshooting hardware and software problems, monitoring network for optimum performance and coordinating release upgrades and fixes from vendors is included. Training and assisting new and existing employees in efficient and effective use of the telecommunications network is also required.
An Associate's Degree in an applicable field or equivalent years' experience with networks, 3+ years in an applicable field or equivalent years' experience with Telecommunication Networks, and 2+ years' experience in IP Telephony (VOIP) is required. A current driver's license with appropriate insurance coverage is required.
JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
- Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the telecommunications network.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all telecommunications applications software.
- Install and maintain telecommunications hardware and software including operating systems, applications, utilities and phone sets.
- Develop/program user applications as necessary such as establishing department ACD's.
- Manage network security to ensure against unauthorized use.
- Monitor network utilization, anticipate hardware/software upgrades and enhancements to obtain maximum operation and performance.
- Ensure proper system backup and recovery procedures are in place and adhered to.
- Assist in the development of user network education and training.
- Trouble-shoot all network, hardware and software problems and report them to the appropriate person.
- Perform related work as required.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a normal office setting and may require working irregular hours.
