This position supports the California Department of Public Health's (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by being responsible for providing telecommunications services to CDPH programs. The duties include providing statewide support services to CDPH staff, located all throughout the state. Works independently relocating telecommunications services in conjunction with office moves, call routers, toll free and Automatic Call Distributor (ACD); coordinates telecommunications system set up with vendors and programs; arranges service and equipment repairs and programming; facilitates testing of Electronic Business Sets and voice processing systems; orders basic and special telecommunications services required by programs and other typical telecommunications systems. This position will independently work on complex Telecommunications projects for the Department.
The incumbent works under the direction of the Staff Services Manager II, Section Chief of the Statewide Infrastructure Support Services.
The Staff Services Analyst (SSA) classification is distinguished from the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) classification by the scope of responsibility, complexity of work performed, independence of action, decision-making, and level of supervision received. This classification consists of three alternate ranges and as the SSA advances within the classification ranges, their responsibilities are expected to show broader knowledge of the work environment, and organizational and/or departmental requirements while the scope of work increases.
This position is a 12-month Limited Term position with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent.

Working Conditions Telework Information :
This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework permitted is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change, consistent with CDPH's Telework Program. All employees who telework are required to be California residents in accordance with Government Code 14200. Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the job offer being rescinded.
Travel may be required for this position. Reimbursement for travel takes into consideration an employee's designated headquarters, as reflected in the duty statement, and is subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the designated headquarters office will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
