Job Description

A client in the greater Franklin, Tn area is looking for a Telecom Engineer to join their team. The Telecom Engineer is responsible for Administering/engineering the platform, troubleshooting issues, reporting, working with executive team requests, optimizing spend, etc.

They are getting ready to migrate to RingCentral so specific experience administering that platform will be paramount.

They will also help with some designing, implementing, and managing the organizations enterprise-level telecommunication infrastructure. This role involves leading telecom projects, optimizing telecom systems for performance and security, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The Telecom Engineer also acts as a technical expert, providing leadership and mentorship to the telecom administration team and collaborating with other IT teams to integrate telecom solutions with the broader IT infrastructure.

Example of responsibilities listed below:

Telecom Infrastructure Design:

o Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-level telecom architectures, ensuring

scalability, security, and high availability.

o Oversee telecom infrastructure projects, from planning and design through to

implementation and maintenance.

Telecom System Optimization:

o Monitor and analyze telecom system performance, identifying and addressing

bottlenecks and vulnerabilities.

o Implement advanced telecom technologies and optimization strategies to improve

efficiency and reliability.

Security and Compliance:

o Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies to protect the organizations

telecom infrastructure from threats.

o Conduct regular security assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards

and regulatory requirements.

Incident Response and Troubleshooting:

o Lead incident response efforts for critical telecom incidents, ensuring rapid resolution

and minimal business impact.

o Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex telecom issues and act as the

final escalation point for the telecom administration team.

Leadership and Mentorship:

o Provide leadership and mentorship to the telecom administration team, fostering

professional growth and technical development.

o Act as a technical advisor to IT leadership on telecom-related matters.

Collaboration and Integration:

o Work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of telecom systems

with network, server, and security solutions.

o Drive continuous improvement in telecom operations, focusing on efficiency, scalability,

and security.

Documentation and Reporting:

o Maintain comprehensive documentation of telecom architecture, security measures,

and performance metrics.

o Prepare and present regular reports to IT leadership on telecom performance, security,

and project progress.

Skills and Requirements

6-8 years of experience in telecom administration.

Demonstrated experience supporting Ring Central - RingEX and RingCX integrated UCaaS and

CCaaS platform.

Administering/engineering the platform, troubleshooting issues, reporting, working with executive team requests, optimizing spend, etc.

Demonstrated leadership in managing large-scale telecom projects and complex telecom

environments.

Strong VOIP, TCP/IP and routing knowledge (TCP/UDP/IP/ICMP/etc.)

Deep understanding of telecom configuration and call-tree and queue setup.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
