McCoy Construction & Forestry, a John Deere dealership group with 25 locations across the Midwest and East South Central Regions, has an opening for a Technology Territory Manager.


Responsible for developing long term partnerships with existing and emerging users of grade control technologies, as well as drive growth of whole good sales and increase market share of Topcon products and accessories within an assigned area of responsibility (AOR). Additionally, provide direct customer and machine support when needed to promote the overall utilization and customer satisfaction of APEX Technologies. Their expertise will be leveraged, when applicable, to support McCoy Construction & Forestry's (MCF) efforts to promote, demo, sell, setup and support John Deere SmartGrade products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not in order of priority):


Promote and sell technology products in assigned area of responsibility.

Proactively manage existing customer relationships, as well as develop prospective customers and markets to maximize profitability and grade control market share.

Maintain an active customer database with respect to call reports, sales forecasts, customer contact information, market intelligence, competitive pricing data, and information on customer's current and potential grade control technology needs.

Establish and maintain a high level of proficiency in construction technology and SmartGrade product

Assist MCF territory managers within their respective areas to assist in sales, setup, and support of SmartGrade machines.

Monitor SmartGrade and construction technology inventories (levels and/or demand) and give regular updates and/or recommendations to management.

Ensure customer satisfaction with APEX Technologies products and services and deal promptly with any disputes or potential disputes through the proper managerial channels within the company.

Regularly follow up with customers who have made purchases to ensure the company has met or exceeded their expectations.

Assist in the collection of accounts receivables as needed or requested by management.

Properly document and follow appropriate company processes for all sales, rentals, and demonstrations.


Education, Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • Associates (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience, of heavy duty diesel equipment
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Ability to build relationships with customers while providing high-quality customer service
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organizational and leadership ability
  • Problem-solving aptitude
