Richland School District 88A is accepting applications for the following position: Technology Support Specialist (Full-Time)
JOB GOAL: To assist students, staff, and administration in the overall maintenance and operation of hardware and software.
QUALIFICATIONS: - High School graduate, or equivalent (Associate Degree or higher preferred)
- Experience in a technology related field or coursework
- Prior experience in basic repair and set up of hardware and software, including network infrastructure.
- Such alternates to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: - Regular and punctual attendance to perform duties. Absences only for personal illness, family emergencies, civic duty, or pre-arranged days off w/supervisor approval, pursuant to Richland School Policy.
- Dress professionally.
- Assists in the overall monitoring of District servers.
- Assists in the management and monitoring of network infrastructure (Switches, Access Points, and Firewalls).
- Assists in the management and monitoring of Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Be a resource for technical troubleshooting at the district and building level.
- Able to do basic repair and set-up work with all District hardware Install, maintain, and provide necessary upgrades to various district hardware and software.
- Assists individual students or teachers with troubleshooting and repairs.
- Provide basic technology training for students and staff.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends and issues in technology.
- Address and answer help tickets in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain strict confidentiality as it relates student, personnel, and school business.
- Assist with distribution of devices to students before, during or after school hours.
- Perform tasks assigned from the Director of Technology & Media Services.
- Work in a collaborative fashion with other staff members.
- Professional demeanor through communication with colleagues, supervisors, parents, students, and staff. Refrain from comments, actions, etc. which would distract from a friendly work environment.
- Provide timely communication with direct supervisors.
- Refrain from personal telephone conversations and cell phone use within the workday.
- Other duties as assigned by administration.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary to be established by the Board of Education. Work day shall follow the Junior High or Elementary schedule not to exceed an 8-hour work day as assigned by the District. Work Calendar - 12-month position with holidays, and vacation days as prescribed by Board of Education policy and procedures.
POSITION START: July 1, 2025
TERM: 12-Month Position (260 Days)
SALARY: Starting Range $15.00-$20.00/hr, based on experience (Eligible for Overtime)
