JOB SUMMARY There are currently two vacancies in the Instructional Technology department providing helpdesk support and access assistance to teachers and students for the district's digital textbooks and educational software applications. This eligibility list will also be used to fill any additional vacancies that may arise while the list remains active. Under general supervision, performs technical work in the installation, maintenance, operation, and repair of district's information technology and related equipment; repairs and replaces computer parts; troubleshoots computer systems and basic network system processes; performs software application installations; and performs related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Analyzes computer equipment malfunctions and system processing failures and takes corrective action.
- Installs, replaces, and relocates computer equipment and related peripheral devices, and makes appropriate connections and disconnections of cabling, as directed.
- Assists in setting up local area networks and related network equipment.
- Performs routine repairs on computer hardware/software and related peripherals.
- Performs software installations and upgrades.
- Communicates with users over the phone, through email, and in person to provide step-by-step instructions regarding computer related problems and provides solutions to basic network problems.
- Analyzes user problems and assists by querying databases for known solutions.
- Utilizes remote access tools to solve computer hardware, software, and network-related problems.
- Troubleshoots problems related to hardware, software, and/or network systems.
- Provides information and training to individual users on software, applications, and computer equipment operation.
- Logs user calls into help desk ticket system.
- Images computers and other peripherals in an enterprise environment.
- Receives and signs for technology equipment and supplies delivered from the district warehouse to the information technology warehouse and keeps track of the inventory by updating computerized records and running reports.
- Provides training and technical support to technology support specialists at the school sites as assigned.
- Assists in maintenance of computers and network equipment, as directed.
- May work with software and hardware vendors to resolve problems.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDSEducation and Experience: High school graduation or equivalent, and some formal training or coursework related to networks and information technology; and two years of recent experience equivalent to full-time work in the installation, maintenance and support of computers, peripherals, and related equipment, including experience troubleshooting problems with computer systems and connectivity and working with end-users is required. Knowledge of Mac OS, Windows OS and a basic knowledge of network systems is required. Knowledge of Apple Mobile IOS, Chrome OS, and prior experience in an educational setting is desirable. A+, Network+, or other related certifications are desirable. Part-time work experience will be considered and adjusted appropriately. Any other combination of training and experience which would likely provide the required skills, knowledge and abilities may be considered.
LICENSE: Must possess and maintain a valid Class C California Driver License and remain insurable at the standard insurance market rate.
Candidates must submit a recent (within the last 30 days) original DMV driving record by the oral rating exam.Knowledge of: - Operation and care of computers, printers, and network equipment.

SELECTION PROCEDURES Applications will be accepted from the general public and district employees who possess the above qualifications.
The district reserves the right to invite applicants whose qualifications most closely meet the requirements needed for the position to continue in the examination process. The examination may consist of an evaluation of training and experience, multiple choice, performance, and oral/technical exams. A qualifying score must be achieved on all portions of the examination in order to be placed on the open eligibility list. Outside and district candidates will be placed on one ranked list, with eligible permanent district employees receiving five seniority points which will be added to their final scores.
