General Summary: The Technology Solutions Specialist serves as the subject matter expert for technology solutions tailored to specific markets, business applications, and/or customers. The Technology Solutions Specialist advises both new and existing business customers on the most suitable solutions to meet their business needs. The Technology Solutions Specialist supports all activities required to successfully configure and activate ordered services, ensuring the customer has a seamless transition from sales to implementation.
Essential Job Functions: - Develop an in-depth understanding of product portfolios tailored to specific markets, applications, and/or custom types.
- Provide tailored product recommendations and solutions based on customer needs.
- Conduct product demonstrations and articulate the value proposition of solutions.
- Prepare and deliver accurate and compelling sales quotes, sales designs, and sales orders for review with customers.
- Support all activities required to successfully activate ordered services, including provisioning, project coordination, and logistical support for installation.
- Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to address any service activation challenges and ensure client satisfaction.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education to potential clients.
- Collaborate with the sales team(s) to support the sales cycle, from lead qualification to deal closure. Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing customer base.
- Conduct training sessions for internal sales teams to enhance their understanding of product-specific features and benefits.
- Stay updated on product updates and communicate relevant information to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborates with technical and engineering teams to design customized services that meet the business needs of customers.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and/or participating in professional societies.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Experience in a sales or product specialist role, preferably in the Business Technology sector.
- Working knowledge of product specialization and product value consultative sales.
- Experience working in product sales through direct customer interaction.
- Ability to recommend changes in products, services, and policies by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Knowledge of Company policies and procedures.
- Strong understanding of technology market dynamics, challenges, and opportunities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Technical proficiency and the ability to convey complex concepts in a simple and understandable manner.
- Results-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Skilled at contacting customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints.
- Skilled in operating various office equipment such as personal computers, various software programs, and telephone systems.
- Must be organized with attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet goals and due dates.
- Ability to always present a professional image to customers and vendors.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to work independently and adapt in a rapidly changing technical environment.
- Ability to effectively function as a team player and to project a positive attitude. Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
Education and/or Experience: - Minimum of two years experience and/or equivalent training in product sales, product development/delivery, or product engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Technology/Engineering, Business, Marketing/Sales, Business Development; or Associate's degree in Technology/Engineering, Business, Marketing/Sales, Business Development plus five years in product sales, product development/delivery, or product engineering.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: - Must have, or be able to obtain, and maintain a valid South Dakota driver's license, have an excellent driving record, and be insurable under the Company's insurance policy.
