The Bryan County School System is currently accepting applications for Low Voltage Administrator. The successful candidate must meet all requirements as listed below:

Position Overview:

This position performs technical work in the low voltage realm of technology. Duties require keeping the following systems highly available: Security (intrusion detection/burglar), fire alarm, intercom, public address, crisis alert, video surveillance and access control. Additional responsibilities include planning/installing/troubleshooting copper and fiberoptic cabling systems. For larger projects, this position will guide the design of the physical infrastructure and low voltage systems. Support responsibilities include coordination with building leaders, monitoring services, and supporting low voltage vendors.

Job Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree, or equivalent technical education/experience level in a related field
  • Industry/manufacturer recognized certifications in any of the systems preferred (BICSI/Ga low voltage licensed a major plus)
  • Minimum two years of work experience performing related administration, planning and troubleshooting of identified systems preferred
Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Ability to lead district/interdepartmental team efforts/projects
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, to include analyzing existing processes and identify areas for improvement
  • Strong problem solving, with the ability to exercise independent judgment, troubleshoot, and solve basic problems
  • Knowledge of hardware, software, functions, and components of low voltage systems
  • Strong knowledge of copper and fiberoptic cabling specifications
  • Knowledge of building codes (NEC/Local government)
  • Ability to troubleshoot low voltage issues
Essential Job Duties:
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot video surveillance and access control systems (Avigilon preferred) & security alarm, fire alarm, and crisis alert systems
  • Train users on use of low voltage systems
  • Coordinate with Systems Engineer for maintenance/troubleshooting of Avigilon systems
  • Design, install, test, troubleshoot and repair copper and fiberoptic cabling
  • Work with construction/architectural/contract vendors on designs for new, large installations, some repairs/troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoot analog phone service issues, manage district cellular service devices
  • Perform cabling locates through GA 811 system
  • Trouble shoot audio visual systems
  • Assist with VHF/UHF campus radios (walkie-talkies)
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a disaster recovery program
