This is for a Tech Intern position for Summer 2025 only.
Position Purpose:
The Summer Technology Intern position offers a tech-savvy individual the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in maintaining a school district's technological infrastructure. Through tasks like Chromebook repair, inventory management, laptop imaging, cart wiring, and software/update installation, the intern will play a role in ensuring a smooth-running and up-to-date technological environment for staff and students when they return to school.
Essential Performance Responsibilities:
-Participate in the deployment and configuration of new devices (e.g., Chromebooks, tablets).
-Assist with software installations and updates on district computers.
-Contribute to maintaining an accurate inventory of district technology assets.
-Participate in other technology-related projects as assigned.
-Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with staff, students, and the community.
Additional Duties:
Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Equipment:
Uses personal computers, scanners, printers and related equipment.
Travel Requirements:
Travel to school district locations when required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Excellent interpersonal skills
-Patience and a genuine interest in helping people
-Ability to excel as part of a team
-Interest and passion for technology
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-Experience with PC, laptop, and/or tablet computer hardware
-Can follow directions and stay on task.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards:
Works in standard office and school building environments. Sometimes, the work is very repetitive. (ex. repairing Chromebooks or wiring carts all day)
Qualifications Profile:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
-High School diploma.
-Industry certifications preferred but not required (CompTIA, Microsoft, Google)
-Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
-Verified successful experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting PC, laptop, and mobile hardware/software.
