Position Job Title: Technology, Service Management Intern
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Job Location: Irvine, Office
Duration: 6/2/25 - 7/25/25


Position Summary
The New Home Co. Internship Program is designed to provide hands-on experience in the dynamic field of New Home Sales and Technology. The Technology Intern will have the opportunity to gain an in-depth IT understanding and apply those skills to specific tasks and projects.

Throughout the internship, the intern will engage in key technology tasks, including learning IT service platforms, developing proof-of-concepts, and analyzing service performance metrics. This role provides valuable exposure to both the technology and construction aspects of the business, offering insight into how IT supports and enhances the homebuilding industry.

Job Duties:
  • General & Administrative Duties:
    • System Training & Exploration: Learn the ins and outs of FreshService Enterprise Edition and the Freddy AI Agent through guided training sessions and self-paced exploration.
    • Process Review & Documentation: Conduct an in-depth review of existing Service Desk and ITSM processes (Incident Management, Knowledge Base, Asset Management, etc.) and identify bottlenecks or areas for improvement.
    • Proof-of-Concept Projects: Design and develop one or two proof-of-concept projects that demonstrate how AI-driven solutions or process improvements can enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
    • Data Collection & Analysis: Gather and analyze performance data (e.g., ticket volumes, resolution times) to support the identification of improvement opportunities and to validate the impact of implemented changes.
  • Shadowing/Meeting Attendance:
    • Comprehensive, hands-on training, providing practical experience with leading ITSM tools.
    • Regular one-on-one mentoring and feedback sessions with experienced IT service management professionals, fostering professional growth and technical expertise.
    • Participate in team meetings, executive briefings, and cross-departmental sessions, enhancing professional networking and industry insight.
    • Direct involvement in real-world projects that impact operational efficiency.
    • Access to workshops and seminars focused on IT service management, process improvement, and emerging technology trends, helping to build a robust skill set for future career opportunities.
  • Special Projects:
    • The Final Internship Project is an opportunityfor the intern to showcase the skills, knowledge, and insights they have gained throughout the program. This project will be presented to supervisors and team members, serving as both a reflection of the intern's journey and a valuable overview of their contributions to the organization.

Position Qualifications
Education
  • Currently enrolled in a collegiate program
Skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized and follows tasks through to completion.
  • Able to manage time wisely and work within deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible, able to anticipate, prioritize and multi-task.
  • Must be computer literate, with intermediate experience in Windows, Word, and Excel
  • Familiarity with IT service management software, preferably FreshService Enterprise Edition, or a strong aptitude for learning new platforms.
  • Basic understanding of ITIL principles and key ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, and Asset Management).
  • Ability to perform data analysis, identify trends, and propose data-driven improvements.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a small team.

Physical Requirements:
