Summary of Primary Functions:
This position is responsible for the sale, rental, and leasing of all new and used John Deere Field Kits, Topcon, Trimble, Leica, and Teleo branded and related positioning solutions equipment distributed by Dobbs Positioning Solutions. The Technology Account Manager will be responsible for developing partnerships with current and potential clients to grow Dobbs Positioning Solutions equipment market share in their given territory. This position will also be responsible for partnering with the heavy equipment sales force in the assigned stores to ensure we have full awareness and coverage of all customer opportunities for new equipment with technology and aftermarket solutions with technology.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. (Other duties may be assigned)
• Identify the full customer system landscape.
• Sell and promote the entire product line distributed by Dobbs Positioning Solutions.
• Prospecting and cold calling to increase customer base and market presence.
• Grow and develop customer relationships and loyalty to increase market share.
• Quote and negotiate prices, credit terms, prepare contracts and record and close orders.
• Provide on-site expertise for demonstrations and machine technology inspections.
• Maintain a contact management type database and call log for designated territory.
• Works in conjunction with Dobbs Equipment SAM/CAM/RAM and PSTR on machine/grade control opportunities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers and pursue target customers.
• Deliver support in the pre-sales and post sales process.
• Utilize Return on Investment strategies to help close sales.
• Work closely with Sales and Marketing staff to provide business solutions.
• Responsible for the implementation planning and execution including progress reporting.
• Manage and control sales-related expenses.
• Attend training and sales meetings as required to stay current with new equipment and special deals.
• Provide feedback to other departments.
• Provide trade-in information when requested.
• Have a clear understanding of the activities and applications that take place on construction jobsites.
• Project Management of implementation processes at the end user.
• Help develop training and marketing materials for local markets.
• Make sure inventory is tracked and accounted for.
• Make sure all paperwork is filled out properly and meets DPS criteria for proper invoicing.
• Communicate and collaborate with Dobbs Equipment and Dobbs Positioning Solutions Management on issues affecting products and services.
• Organize end user promotions such as technology field days and Roadshows to gain higher brand recognition.
• Participates in cross-functional and cross-divisional communication and teams to identify and leverage solutions and resources.
• Develop relationships with key company personnel, channel partners and end users to acquire market share and customer satisfaction targets.
• Manage market awareness and provide lost sales reports.
• Provide status report to the sales manager as to achievement of goals and objectives.
• Manage and maximize rental conversions.
• Meet or exceed company targets for units, dollars, and gross profit.
• Execute other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty independently and satisfactorily to its successful completion.
• Valid Drivers License
• Experience in Machine Control Solutions, and Job Site productivity.
• Experience with the operation of Heavy Equipment.
• Experience in project management
• Experience in surveying field.
Education, Skill, and/or Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree (preferred)
• 3-5 years of working experience in Machine Control Solutions, and Job Site productivity.
• 3-5 years of in working experience with the operation of Heavy Equipment.
• 3-5 years' experience in project management
• 3-5 years' experience in surveying field.
• Familiarity with OSHA Safety Standards.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
• Knowledge of IT.
• Commercial experience (pre-sales).
• Analytical thinking & problem-solving skills.
• Project management skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good training and presentation skills (in person & online).
• English speaking, conversational and technical.
• Bilingual a plus.
• 1+ Years of working knowledge of GPS equipment. Preferred.
• Familiarity with the construction industry or contractors or both.
• Valid Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record.
• Must be able to self-manage/self-motivate.
• PC literate, proficient with MS Office, with an emphasis in Excel and Outlook required.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Quick learner with the ability to think out of the box.
• Extensive driving required; overnight travel required.
