A unique opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 trainee Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our dynamic Nuclear Medicine and PET CT team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

This post offers comprehensive training across patient imaging, radiopharmaceutical production and administration, and Nuclear Medicine equipment operation and quality assurance programs.
Applicants from any healthcare-related academic background are welcome. Non-traditional entry routes are considered on an individual basis; prior healthcare experience is advantageous. Candidates should typically hold a 2:1 honours degree (or higher) or a vocational award with evidence of further learning. Note that this role is designed as an entry point into nuclear medicine and is not suitable for candidates with a prior nuclear medicine qualification.
Successful candidates will need to be enrolled and ready to start with the University of Salford by September 2025.
Main duties of the job
- Participate in a training program comprising academic coursework and clinical workplace training within the department, leading to a Post Graduate diploma in Nuclear Medicine.
- The course is run by the University of Salford and will be delivered via a hybrid model, with full support provided for attendance.
- This practitioner pathway emphasizes emerging technologies and is suitable for science and healthcare graduates interested in applying science to patient care.
- Gain experience with various equipment and techniques used in nuclear medicine through rotations across different staff and departments, developing analytical and clinical skills relevant to patient care.

Person Specification Education
- Degree with 2:1 or higher in a healthcare-related field.
- Eligibility to enroll in the Salford University Nuclear Medicine Imaging program.
- Minimum 6 months healthcare experience.

Salary: £35,964 to £43,780 per annum, inclusive, pro-rata as applicable.
