Summary of Position: This position is responsible for the daily optimization of artificial lift and production for their areas, including the identification of problems or potential problems, recommending installation of artificial lift, recommending changes to artificial lift equipment and settings, documentation, and reporting. Will also train and inform LO's of changes and opportunities to the LO's AOR. Primary Job Responsibilities: Monitor production trends, generate downtime reports, to minimize downtime and maximize production. Monitor artificial lift equipment performance, failures, and failure root causes. Drive collaboration with lease operators, production foremen and production engineering to optimize production volumes and minimize downtime. Use historical production data and work with production foremen and Engineers to identify downhole well intervention and workover candidates, build a backlog of well work opportunities, research well design and well work history. Identify optimization opportunities and uplift potential from adjustments to artificial lift equipment and settings. Troubleshoot ongoing field operational issues related to compressors, gas lift equipment, ESPs, plungers, automation, surface issues, and downhole issues. Work with production foremen to develop and conduct lease operator training on artificial lift optimization. Work in all weather conditions including rain, snow, mud, etc. - work is performed in hazardous driving and working conditions all seasons of the year. Operate a vehicle safely in all weather conditions to drive to oil and gas equipment located in rural/open range country. On job training with less experienced technicians. Follow safe operating practices and ensure compliance with all CIVI Environment, Safety & Regulatory requirements. Assure work performed adheres to CIVI standards. Performs all other duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Competencies: Strong mechanical ability and demonstrated ability to optimize production and minimize downtime across various artificial lift production methods. Knowledge of basic oil & gas processing equipment. Ability to read blueprints Ability to read, interpret, and follow wiring schematics . Basic computer skills (e.g., e-mail, Word, Excel). Able to use Echometer equipment and software Ability to work on all forms of artificial lift styles Proficient in well failure diagnoses/troubleshooting Ability to walk along open range/country, dirt roads, inclines/declines, etc. to reach equipment and climb in/out of ditches. Ability to repair equipment, as needed, and read equipment gauges on large scale compressor station equipment. Ability to lift 80 lbs. and maneuver heavy objects and operate machinery. Proven ability to multi-task and meet stringent deadlines with a positive and helpful "can-do" attitude. Demonstrated knowledge of safe work behavior and habits Ability to work independently and effectively with a diverse group. Work well with all field team members along with all office support needs. Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Follow safe operating practices and ensure compliance with CIVI Environment, Safety & Regulatory requirements. Assure all work performed adheres to CIVI standards. Perform all other duties as assigned. Education & Experience: 5-7 years' oil & gas field operations, maintenance, automation, or adjacent field. Trade school or bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
