Technician II

Education Required: Graduated from School of Surgical Technology Experience Preferred: 2 years of surgical experience Skills Excellent communication skills Working knowledge of computers Ability to organize instrument sets Able to pass a written proficiency review. Organized and self-motivated with an attention to detail. Licensure/Certification/Registration Required: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) Preferred: CST, CIS Position Competencies: Competencies are essential skills needed to be successful in a position. These competencies are required to help the department maintain a high level of productivity and success. Each competency will be evaluated by observation. If evaluated by another method i.e. simulation, discussion or post test please note in the comment box below each corresponding competency. Knowledge of manufactures recommendations on decontamination, packaging and processing and sterilization of surgical instrumentation. Understand how to use One Source to identify manufactures recommendations for instrumentation processing. Understand how to use the number system and computer to identify the locations of instrumentation. Understand how to use SPD equipment safely according to manufactures recommendations.
