Technical Writer Job Category: Engineering and Technical Support Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: None Type of Travel: None The Opportunity: CACI is seeking a Technical Writer to assist in producing, proof-reading, editing, and formatting technical documentation to include technical manuals, user guides, how-to-guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support a government customer. In this role you will edit and format information for consumption and gather information, interview subject matter experts, and conduct other research to convey technical material in a concise and effective manner Responsibilities: Responsible for updating and maintaining all program documentation
• Understand basic concepts (to include basic grammar concepts), responsible for writing technical copy for various types of documents
Maintain a current internal documentation library
• Research highly technical subject matter, organizes information from multiples sources, and express technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a wide audience of readers
Ensures documentation complies with all applicable specifications, standards, and other project constraints
Supports creation and editing of graphic content for program documentation
• Supports quality assurance efforts to ensure visual fidelity of all graphical materials
Acquires/learns functional knowledge of subject matter
Conducts research on program subject matter including observing subject matter experts, participating in demonstrations and documenting results Qualifications: Required: 5+ years relevant experience in Technical Writing and documentation development
An active DoD TS/SCI
BA/BS with at least 3 years of experience
Minimum of 9 years of experience with no BA/BS degree. Desired: Detail oriented and analytical.
Experience working in a DoD Contracting Environment
Military Intelligence experience
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Experience with XML authoring using software like Notepad or Arbortext.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
