Duration: Up to 36 months Hours: 35 hours/week Client: Department of Education Contract Type: W2 / 1099 Hourly Rate: Up to $48/hr (set limit)

We are seeking two experienced Technical Writers to support the Finance, Administration & Operations (FAO). These roles will focus on documenting IT procurement processes, capital planning, and strategic technology initiatives aligned with the CIO's office.


Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with technical teams, directors, and stakeholders to capture business and technical requirements.
  • Draft, edit, and maintain documentation such as RFPs, technical scopes, capital plans, project reports, and IT operational manuals.
  • Translate complex IT concepts into clear, user-friendly documents for varied audiences.
  • Support knowledge management by creating and maintaining centralized document repositories.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with standards, regulations, and security/privacy requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of technical writing or business analysis experience.
  • 5+ years of experience using Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, Access.
  • 5+ years in IT, software, or related industries.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in public sector, government, or education technology.
  • Strong writing, research, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate technical information for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technical Communication, or related field.
Soft Skills
  • Detail-oriented, analytical thinker.
  • Process-driven with strong documentation practices.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid or remote team environment.
  • Able to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
