Technical Support Specialist & Trainer for Medical Technology

This is a direct hire position based in the Sacramento, CA area for an experienced Medical Technologist. Ideal for professionals seeking to leverage their laboratory skills in a new dimension, this role involves providing technical support and training during the implementation of medical lab equipment and processes. As a pivotal member of our team, you will guide and support customers during and post the installation phase, ensuring optimal use of our sophisticated lab technologies. This role is perfect for those who enjoy a mix of problem-solving, fieldwork, and customer interaction within the medical technology space.

Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Direct problem-solving related to reagents, kits, procedures, adaptations, and software updates.
  • Conduct training programs for medical technologists on new instrumentation and technologies.
  • Assist in the resolution of reagent and software-based issues post installation.
  • Provide ongoing post-sales technical support and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Represent the company at seminars, conventions, and meetings to showcase product expertise and strengthen brand visibility.
  • Deliver expert-level telephone support to machine operators facing technical difficulties.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a closely related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience as a Medical Technologist.
  • Mandatory ASCP Certification.
  • Ability to travel overnight as required for the role.
  • Residence in or willingness to relocate to the Sacramento, CA area (no relocation assistance provided).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong coagulation experience highly preferred and should be evidenced in the application.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve issues in a timely manner.
Skills:
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Strong training and presentation skills.
  • High proficiency in using computer systems and software used in lab settings.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
