Specialty Building Products is currently looking for a Technical Support Representative to join our VALUES based organization with a strong background in screens, referring and diagnoses internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of personal computers and related systems.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
  • Providing technical support to customers who are experiencing problems or issues with a product or service. This may involve troubleshooting hardware or software problems, answering technical questions, providing guidance on product usage or taking apart a computer and working inside the computer.
  • Resolving customer issues in a timely and effective manner. This may involve working with other departments or vendors to resolve more complex issues.
  • Documenting customer interactions, including the nature of the problem, steps taken to resolve the issue, and any follow-up that may be required.
  • Communicating with customers in a clear and concise manner. This may involve explaining technical concepts in non-technical language or translating complex technical information into easily understandable terms.
  • Creating technical training documentation by researching, drafting, and designing technical documents such as manuals, guides, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Updating technical documentation to reflect changes in products, services, or processes. This may involve adding new information, modifying existing content, or removing outdated information.
  • Maintaining technical knowledge by staying up to date with the latest product developments and technical trends in order to provide effective technical support to customers.
Qualifications:
  • Computer Science Degree preferred but not required.
  • 1-3 years of technical experience or computer programming required.
  • Onsite position - flexible schedule between the hours of 6am-6pm, Monday-Friday
  • Must be able to travel on an "as needed" basis.
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends on an "as needed" basis.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Microsoft Windows, and mobile device operating systems.
