Description: Candidate sought to provide support to program manager by participating in or leading activities in project management, technical and programmatic risk analysis, and program-funded test coordination. The candidate will also be responsible for coordinating meetings, assessing performer technical progress, projecting performer outcomes, and ensuring that project management best practices are followed by performers, independent verification and validation (IV&V) entities funded by org, and within org itself. The ideal candidate should possess technical research, development, and engineering experience across a breadth of applied technical projects. Relevant skills include experience conceptualizing cislunar operations, model predictive control, astrodynamics, and spacecraft propulsion. Experience in sensors and data processing is highly desired. Exemplary candidates will also have demonstrated an ability to learn new subjects and gain rapid insights into current and next-generation research topics, preferably with hands-on leadership of research programs at the performer level. Desired capabilities and characteristics:
• Candidate needs at least 2 years of experience with space projects and new technology development work, preferably with experience building cross discipline teams across agencies to support future operational platform

• A background in astrodynamics, autonomous systems, and space operations

• Periodic onsite support required with preference for on-site work and presence

• Demonstrated program management expertise, with a couple of years following program management best practices in a research environment, preferably as a project lead

• Expertise and strong interest in the above technical areas

• Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar areas needed to broadly support program goals

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project

• Demonstrated attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills - both written (to include PowerPoint) and oral

• Self-starter who is willing to both take the lead and provide support in a team role in a complex, fast-paced, cross-disciplinary work environment

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and respond to quick turn-around requests

• Flexible and readily adaptable to change responsibilities Responsibilities to include:
• Lead periodic (monthly or bi-weekly) performer assessments to analyze program, technical, and schedule risks; develop risk mitigation strategies; communicate findings to program manager

• Evaluate and guide technical reports, briefings, and other performer communications

• Engage stakeholders and collaborators across the various DoD agencies and services

• Shape and oversee early operational analysis

• Administer programmatics, including development of technical analysis, identification of technology gaps, technical risk management, project cost estimation, technology transfer efforts, as well as supporting technical reviews.

• Attend and organize program reviews/site visits/field tests
