Job description:

Seeking a highly self-motivated Support Engineer to join our growing IT Infrastructure Group. Responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to employees for a range of hardware and software related systems. Responds to and diagnoses problems through discussion with users, which includes trouble shooting, trouble resolution and problem escalation. Provides effective and timely resolution of users' problems, queries or complaints. Assists in hardware and software evaluation and recommends upgrades or improvements to IT infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Installs, configures, and supports company desktops and laptops, including Windows, Mac and other hardware.
  • Provide escalation technical support to tier 1 engineers.
  • Assumes accountability for successful development and implementation on assigned projects.
  • Plan, configure, and roll out upgrades and vulnerability remediation to production systems.
  • Monitors systems to optimize performance and to initiate recovery action after system failures.
  • Analyze complex computer issues, identify problems, and develop & implement effective solutions.
  • Troubleshoot internal issues and support where needed.
  • Train other IT support staff on new hardware and software as needed.
  • Document ticket resolutions in provided ITSM tool.
  • Create simple documentation and KB support materials.
Job Qualifications
  • Good understanding of computer technologies.
  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years' experience in support.
  • Basic knowledge of network and security.
  • Experience with Active Directory.
  • Experience with VPN technologies.
  • Ideal candidate is a strong team player, quality conscientious, has excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, and is highly self-motivated.
  • Perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under pressure of time sensitive deadlines.
Requirements:
  • Strong team and people skills required.
  • Ability to work in a group and individually.
  • Strong oral communication skills to gather information and explain complex technical concepts in a simple language.
  • Time management skills to provide updates and fixes within a promised time frame.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute instructions.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with Windows, and Mac operating systems.
  • Ability to easily adapt to and learn new technologies.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
  • Associates (2-year) degree, or equivalent experience.
  • PowerShell
  • Microsoft Office O365
  • Certifications are not required, but preference will be given to the following certifications:
    • A+
    • Microsoft 365: Modern Desktop Administrator
    • ITIL Foundation
    • Network+
