DescriptionMonitors and maintains the college's computers including staff supervisor faculty administrator and all labs; printers and peripheral equipment. Install maintain and repair hardware and software on college computers. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems. Work with the existing college network to maintain maximum runtime for all equipment. Perform development and testing of new technologies for campus.
Description of Essential Functions (critical tasks)Essential Job Functions:
- Monitor and resolve trouble ticket issues for the entire institution in a professional and timely manner.Report all unsolvable issues to supervisor.
- Regularly review computer labs to test and maintain hardware and software functionality.
- Assist students and staff with software and hardware questions and issues.
- Install microcomputers and software and assist with the installation of network equipment and accessories.
- Install/reinstall hardware and software as required.
- Create/Maintain scripts/applications as needed.
- Install microcomputers and printers on the network.
- Analyze current issues to find alternatives to improve performance and function of technology.
- Other duties as assigned.
Specific Functional Job RequirementsEducation Requirements:
- High School diplomat or equivalent required. Related coursework in the field or Associate's degree preferred.
Experience Requirements:
- Personal computers, client operating systems, and common application software. Virtualization technologies and management tools associated with them.
Knowledge:
- Current versions of client operating systems, application software, microcomputers, printers, basic network functions, knowledge of registry manipulation required, and virtualization experience preferred.
Skills:
- Ability to work with a variety of software packages and with different hardware configurations.Good debugging and analytic skills required.
Personal Requirements:
- Ability to work with others,good communication skills,and problem solving ability with a professional attitude.

Tuition Waiver Lake Land College offers tuition waivers for credit courses of 1 credit hour tuition waiver for every semester completed for a total of up to 3 credit hours per Fiscal Year.
Retirement Lake Land College employees are members of the State Universities Retirement System (SURS). 8% of your gross earnings will be placed into your SURS account. You will have three plan options to select from-Traditional, Portable, and Retirement Savings Plan. Information will be mailed to your home from SURS. Please be advised that if you do not make an election within 6 months-you will automatically be enrolled in the Traditional Plan, which is the default plan. Elections are irrevocable.
