Position: Technical Specialist Operations (Network Ops L2 SME)Location: New York, NY 10281 or Winston-Salem, NC 27107Duration: 12+ Months Job Type: Contract Work Type: HybridJob Description: Responsibilities Summary : - Responsibilities are that of NOC support team ( Network Operations)
- Assist in the support of servers, network devices and mainframes at all facilities for hardware or software errors
- Support Java, WebSphere & File Transfer applications
- Execute diagnostic tests to monitor the health and performance of computer systems and communications equipment
- Provide network support for WAN and IP Telephony networks
- Monitor help desk calls and assist in the in resolution of problems; escalate problems to internal technical groups as appropriat
- Triaging, troubleshooting and resolving escalated production issues on a complex mission critical application as per SOP (guideline)
- Create documentation that will troubleshoot internal networks and systems efficiently
- Proactively contact participants when surveillance systems identify connectivity issues
- Implement and participate in Disaster Recovery exercises
- Support release implementation, infrastructure upgrades, maintenance and disaster recovery testing
- Prepare Operations for the implementation or decommission of services
- Engage with other technical teams and assist/develop technical solution for integration projects
- Perform root cause analysis of issues as needed
- Develop runbooks for recurring issues, system implementation, shutdown and recovery
- This role is NOC Ops representative within the NOC support team providing support during off-business hours (7 pm to 6 am)
Qualifications desired (not mandatory): - Certification on Red Hat linux
- CCNA, CCNP, MCSE and ITIL certification
- Unisys Mainframe Experience
- IMB MQ and Connect Direct experience
- Linux Shell Scripting
- Experience with credit card processing applications, digital wallets, emerging payments, mobile payments will be added advantage
What are the top skills required for this role? - Max - up to 5 years of experience needed (Experience in Operations & Application support), we don't need Network Engineer profiles
- 3 to 5 years' experience/ working knowledge about networking devices like Cisco routers switches
- 3 to 5 years' experience with Red Hat Linux and in an enterprise environment, Application support AND / OR
- 2 to 3 years' experience/ knowledge about WebSphere Application server AND / OR
- 2 to 3 years' experience with working with or having knowledge about Database (DB2 preferred)
- Overall relevant experience should not be more than 5 years
