Define design processes and develop envelope protection control laws including definition, testing, and certification. Develop, document, and inspect simulation models for the purposes of fly-by-wire control law design, analysis, and testing. Develop tools in MATLAB/Simulink to support the evaluation of various control system operating modes. Perform hardware in the loop testing of control laws, including validation and verification of requirements. Develop lab and flight test plans of fly-by-wire airplanes. Investigate open- and closed-loop control system problems, correctly determining the root causes and proposing, implementing, and testing solutions. Guide company on best practices, processes, and design criteria. Develop and mentor less experienced engineers. Provide flight test support and data analysis, including validation and verification of control law design and troubleshooting/revising control laws as required. Establish requirements for control systems functionality, integrity, availability, and performance to ensure flight safety and Part 25 certification.
