Company description:
My client is a Manufacturer of Textile Products. They are recruiting for a Sales Representative, ideally with a background in Textiles / Plastics Manufacturing. This is working a days position Monday - Friday (Hybrid), with the salary on offer for this position being circa $130,000 - $140,000 depending on experience.
Responsibilities as the Sales Representative:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers in the textile, apparel, and industrial fabric sectors across North and Central America.
- Identify new business opportunities and markets, including customized and technical textile applications.
- Provide technical product information and support to clients, explaining the benefits and uses of polymerized, spun, and textured yarns.
- Collaborate with R&D and production teams to align product offerings with customer needs, ensuring quality, consistency, and on-time delivery.
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to inform sales strategies and enhance market positioning.
- Prepare and present tailored sales proposals, including product samples, pricing structures, and technical documentation.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms of sale in line with company policies to secure business and grow market share.
- Travel within North and Central America to visit customers, build relationships, and drive business development.
- Attend key trade shows, industry events, and conferences to represent the company, showcase product capabilities, and identify new leads.
Experience Required as a Sales Representative:
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the textile or plastics manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of their manufacturing processes (polymerization, spinning, texturing)
- Proven track record of developing new business and maintaining relationships with brands, mills, and manufacturers
- Experience working closely with product development, design, and technical teams
- Ability to understand and communicate technical information related to yarn properties such as stretch, breathability, durability, and sustainability.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a history of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present to both technical and creative decision-makers.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, sales tracking tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel throughout North and Central America for customer meetings, product presentations, and trade show participation.
- Experience representing a company at industry trade shows and textile/fashion events is highly preferred.
