This role encompasses full project lifecycle management, including financial oversight, scope definition, schedule management, and risk mitigation. The Project Manager will lead cross-functional teams, collaborate with stakeholders across various business areas, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Project Management Office (PMO).
Responsibilities: - Provide strong leadership and direction for multiple medium to large internal IT or business projects, encompassing financial, scope, schedule, and risk management.
- Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive project work plans, adapting methodologies and processes to meet evolving needs.
- Take ownership of the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and successful completion of assigned business projects, ensuring alignment with company strategy, commitments, and goals.
- Directly manage, plan, and administer the operational and administrative activities of assigned Information Technology and Business project teams.
- Collaborate effectively across multiple business areas to manage both IT and business deliverables, ensuring seamless integration and communication.
- Actively participate in Project Management Office (PMO) process improvement initiatives and contribute to the onboarding of new PMO staff.
- Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and escalating appropriately.
- Ensure clear and consistent communication with project team members, stakeholders, and sponsors regarding project status, progress, and potential roadblocks.
- Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and provide accurate financial forecasts.
- Facilitate project reviews, prepare comprehensive status reports, and present updates to executive leadership.
Essential Job Functions: - Communication & Stakeholder Management (25%):
- Develop and implement a robust communication plan to ensure continuous and transparent communication with project teams, customers, and sponsors regarding project status, key decisions, and potential impacts.
- Resource & Issue Management (10%):
- Identify resource requirements, collaborate with resource managers to assemble skilled teams, and effectively manage project issues, risks, and changes utilizing established PMO processes and tools.
- Project Planning & Execution (15%):
- Define and maintain realistic project schedules, identify critical paths and potential risks, and enforce scheduling standards within project teams. Lead the team in developing and maintaining project work plans and essential deliverables.
- Project Monitoring & Reporting (10%):
- Facilitate regular project reviews, provide accurate and timely information for audits and status reports, and prepare comprehensive materials for executive review meetings. Manage project expenditures against both forecast and capital budgets.
- Financial & Resource Forecasting (15%):
- Accurately forecast, manage, and report on project financials (planned vs. actual), project schedules, and resource utilization. Apply understanding of basic revenue models and cost-to-completion projections to inform decision-making.
- Project Delivery & Quality (15%):
- Be fully responsible and accountable for the successful delivery of medium to large projects on time, within budget, and meeting defined functional and quality specifications.
- Process Improvement & Onboarding (5%):
- Actively participate in PMO process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Support the onboarding process for new Project Management staff.
Education: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Requirements: - Hybrid Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in the office; Thursday and Friday work from home.
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in a Project Management role, with a strong track record of team development and leadership.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in an Information Technology capacity, demonstrating a solid understanding of various technologies including applications, databases, networking, telecommunications, and connectivity.
- Demonstrated experience leading medium to large-scale new application development or infrastructure deployment projects.
- Strong understanding of and practical experience with various Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Iterative).
- Proven ability to effectively lead and motivate project teams to deliver all phases of complex system assignments.
- Solid understanding of basic revenue models and cost-to-completion projections, with the ability to make informed decisions accordingly.
- Master-level proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).
- Familiarity with Portfolio/Program Management Software (e.g., Clarity, Jira Portfolio, Asana Portfolio).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
