Reports to: VP Network Architecture and Engineering
Status: Full Time/Exempt
Location: Orlando, FL
Position Summary:
The technical project manager will be responsible for facilitating communication between Summit Broadband's Engineering, Outside Plant, Service Delivery, Headend, Network Operation Center, and Sales departments, and making sure other project workers stick to company objectives.
The role will be responsible for technical project planning and management of initiatives that are in line with company plans and priorities. This candidate will also be expected to make sure that selected projects and initiatives are executed within the allocated timeframe, and that they fall within the designated budget. The role of Technical Project Manager also will also entail making sure that there is a balance in the sustainability, scheduling, and performance of each project that is being embarked on. It also will include analyzing various solutions and the ability to discern why a particular solution (means of tackling a problem at hand) was chosen over others. The position will support a variety of departments at Summit Broadband, Inc., while ensuring all given projects are prioritized effectively and successfully executed.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for:
• Organizing and managing all levels or forms of engineering which includes the design, analysis, training, testing, and setting-up of solutions
• Project planning, scheduling, risk management, resource management, sequential status reports, and both internal and external communication linkages in the company
• Planning, carrying out research, and putting up solutions to both new and existing projects
• Setting standards for each project the company embarks on and monitoring the input of different teams within the organization in order to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the project as planned
• Working hand in hand with different stakeholders (both internal and external) in a bid to increase efficiency in the delivery of projects, and making sure that there is an improvement in customer satisfaction
• Evaluating complex situations using diverse sources of information
• Leading, monitoring, and motivating different teams across the company and interacting with staff at all levels in the organization
• Creating and managing methods of management, communication plans, and processes
• Analyzing, planning, and developing procedures and other management and technical duties
• Defining the scope of the project, roles, and responsibilities along with various stakeholders
• Participating in the allocation of budget, staff and any other resources that are needed to accomplish or achieve set out goals (projects), and also monitoring the performance of every project
• Maintaining correct project time frames, estimates, and status reports
• Managing complex problems and development of processes for scheduling and administration
• Ensuring that all required projects are completed and reviewed
• Identifying, clarifying, and communicating the vision(s) and/or objective(s) of projects and showing how they align with, enhance, or inhibit such vision(s) and/or objective(s)
• Providing process improvement recommendations that are based on best practices and industry standards
Required Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge:
• Effective communication and leadership skills
• Interpersonal skills to be able to relate with people or personnel from different units of the company
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Moderate to advanced knowledge and understanding of relevant network technologies
• Ability to build relationship across many fronts
• Attention to detail focused
• Ability to work in a team as well as individually with little or no supervision
• Minimum of bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant working experience in a project management setting
• Additional certifications preferred
