To succeed as a Technical Project Manager, you should have:

  • Knowledge of organizing data products around business domains, fundamental to data mesh architecture.
  • Ability to manage distributed data architectures, including data contracts, interoperability, and federation patterns.
  • Experience in cross-functional team leadership, collaborating with domain experts, data engineers, data scientists, and platform teams.

Additional valued skills include:

  • Familiarity with federated governance models for data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Understanding of self-service data infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in Cloud Services, with AWS certification considered a bonus.

This role is based in Northampton and may involve assessments on key skills such as risk management, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital technology, and technical expertise.

Purpose of the role

To oversee the efficient delivery of large-scale technical projects across the bank, collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensuring project delivery within scope, time, budget, and quality standards.

Accountabilities include:

  • Managing delivery, resource allocation, and continuous improvement of complex technical capabilities using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Collaborating with customers and business teams to support project proposals, effort estimation, and timeline management.
  • Working with engineering teams to deliver high-quality products aligned with bank policies and regulations.
  • Assessing and mitigating risks associated with technical projects.
  • Managing change requests and stakeholder communication throughout project lifecycles.
  • Overseeing vendor relations to ensure contractual deliverables are met.
  • Staying updated on industry trends to foster innovation and technical excellence.
