Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Freelance Technical Project Manager for a 3-month commitment(expected)to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of a large-scale development project. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving efficiency and ensuring the successful deployment of complex technical initiatives within this timeframe. You will work closely with development teams, product owners, and potentially executive stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. While this role is not directly client-facing in the traditional sense, it will require the ability to communicate effectively and present project updates to internal leadership

Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end project lifecycle for a large development project within the expected 3-month timeframe, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and roadmaps within Jira, breaking down complex initiatives into manageable tasks and dependencies, ensuring deliverables align with the timeframe.
• Effectively manage development workflows utilizing various methodologies including Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and iterative approaches, adapting strategies as needed to optimize team performance and meet the project timeline.
• Collaborate with development teams and product owners to build schedules aligned with user stories and project requirements within the defined timeframe.
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring feasibility within the expected 3-month constraint.
• Proactively identify potential risks, gaps, and bottlenecks in project processes and develop mitigation strategies to maintain progress.
• Forecast resource needs and work with relevant stakeholders to ensure appropriate team allocation for the project's duration.
• Champion the integration of analytics considerations into the development lifecycle, including understanding the importance of tagging strategies and the data requirements for effective dashboards.
• Monitor project progress, track key milestones, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders, including potential presentations to executive leadership.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the project team and across different functional areas.
• Ensure adherence to internal standards and best practices throughout the development process.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance project management methodologies and workflows, with a focus on efficiency within the expected project duration.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven track record of successfully scoping, managing, and deploying large-scale development projects, ideally with experience in delivering within defined timelines.
• Significant experience utilizing Jira to build and maintain detailed project schedules, roadmaps, and track progress.
• Strong understanding of and practical experience managing projects using Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and iterative development methodologies.
• Experience working within a digital or content production environment is highly recommended.
• Familiarity with the role of analytics in development cycles and an understanding of the importance of tagging strategies for effective dashboards.
• Demonstrated ability to forecast potential issues and proactively address them to maintain project momentum within the timeframe given.
• Experience building project schedules based on user stories.
• Excellent leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team, demonstrating a high degree of self-direction.
• Experience with other project management tools (e.g., Confluence) is a plus.
• Experience presenting project updates to stakeholders, including executive leadership, is desirable.
• A proactive, problem-solving attitude and a strong work ethic, with the ability to hit the ground running.

This is a freelance, (expected) 3-month commitment and does not include marketing/digital projects.
