Description

At Turion Space, we're on a mission to secure Earth and expand humanity's reach beyond it. We're developing spacecraft for national security, in-space servicing, and orbital debris removal. As we prepare for upcoming launches and expand our portfolio of government and commercial programs, we're looking for a Technical Project Manager to drive the execution of complex hardware and mission-critical space systems programs.

This is a cross-functional, hands-on role that blends technical depth with project leadership. You'll work closely with engineering, manufacturing, vendors, and customers to deliver on high-priority programs to ensure we stay on track, aligned, and ready for orbit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead multi-disciplinary technical projects across hardware, software, and systems engineering-from planning through launch readiness.
  • Drive detailed project planning, including scope definition, schedules, budgets, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate execution across internal engineering teams, suppliers, and partners to ensure timelines and technical goals are met.
  • Identify risks early, manage tradeoffs, and implement mitigation strategies to keep programs on track.
  • Provide day-to-day technical oversight and facilitate resolution of engineering, integration, and test issues.
  • Act as the connective tissue between technical execution and program goals, ensuring alignment between engineering detail and broader mission objectives.
  • Maintain high-quality project documentation, including status updates, RAID logs, and post-project reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with program management, product, QA, and leadership teams to support high-velocity decision making and program clarity.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field
  • 4+ years of project management experience with a strong track record of leading complex technical projects
  • Solid understanding of systems engineering, hardware/software integration, or space systems development
  • Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Jira, MS Project)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills across engineering and leadership audiences
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret or TS/SCI clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering and/or MBA
  • 6+ years of technical project management experience in the aerospace, defense, or advanced technology sector
  • Experience managing government-funded or DoD space programs
  • Project management certifications such as PMP, CSM, or PMI-ACP
  • Strong familiarity with satellite systems, in-space servicing, or mission ops
  • Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance
