Job Title: Technical Manager with Java, Microservices, Mulesoft, and API Experience

Location: NYC preferred (Remote)

Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Technical Manager with extensive experience in Java, Microservices, Mulesoft, and API development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application development, API security, and collaboration with Chief Information Security Officers (CISO). This role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of software architecture and security best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team of developers and engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure project success and team growth.
• Technical Strategy: Define and implement technical strategies for application development, focusing on Java, Microservices, Mulesoft, and API technologies.
• API Development and Integration: Oversee the design, development, and integration of robust APIs, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Microservices Architecture: Advocate for and implement microservices architecture, promoting modularity, flexibility, and ease of maintenance.
• Security Best Practices: Ensure that all development practices adhere to security best practices, working closely with the CISO to address security concerns and implement necessary safeguards.
• Project Management: Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other stakeholders, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Innovation and Improvement: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, continuously seeking ways to innovate and improve the development process.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of technical designs, project plans, and progress reports.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 18+ years of overall experience in software development, with at least 5-8 years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven experience with Java, Microservices, Mulesoft, and API development.
• Strong background in application development and API security.
• Technical Skills:
• Expertise in Java programming and related frameworks.
• Extensive experience with microservices architecture and Mulesoft integration.
• Deep understanding of API development, including RESTful and SOAP APIs.
• Knowledge of security best practices, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure coding principles.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Java, Mulesoft, AWS).
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
