Job Title: Technical Manager
Location: Dungannon
Role Purpose:
Lead food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance on-site, ensuring products meet high standards while driving continuous improvement. Serve as the key technical contact for audits, compliance, and customer support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the technical team, fostering a strong food safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with BRCGS, HACCP, and customer requirements.
- Maintain and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Oversee audits, ensuring site readiness and regulatory compliance.
- Manage customer queries, complaints, and corrective actions.
- Implement product testing and supplier approval processes.
- Collaborate with Hygiene, Production, and NPD teams.
- Lead HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP risk assessments.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving measures.
- Monitor KPIs and report to senior management.
- Support sustainability, allergen control, and waste reduction programmes.
- Develop training programmes for food safety and quality.
Candidate Requirements:
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical or quality management role within food manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, and retailer standards.
- Proven leadership and people management experience.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability with experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Understanding of allergen management, food safety, and microbiological controls.
- Experience with third-party audits and customer technical interactions.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and change management.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
