You'll serve as the single technical owner for a federal mission planning platform transitioning from sustainment to cloud ready microservices. Half of your time is hands on-diving into .NET and SQL code, tuning performance, and breaking down a monolith. The other half is spent as a liaison: reviewing a Systems Integrator's pull requests, translating risks for government stakeholders, and ensuring every release meets stringent cybersecurity controls. Responsibilities Lead design and code reviews for backend (.NET Core/C ) and frontend (TypeScript/JavaScript) components. Refactor legacy schemas, optimize large scale SQL queries, and write data migration scripts. Own CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, SonarQube), adding automated SAST/DAST gates to accelerate ATO cycles. Map RMF/STIG/NIST controls to implementation; author POA&Ms and brief accreditation status. Maintain living architecture in Cameo SysML, Confluence, and ICDs, ensuring full requirements traceability. Influence external engineers without direct authority, driving coding standards and DevSecOps best practices. Prepare executive level risk briefs and technical decision packages for senior leadership. Minimum qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 8 + years developing production software with C /.NET and advanced SQL (PostgreSQL or MS SQL). 3 + years leading code reviews and driving quality gates in a CI/CD environment. Active (or clearable) Secret security clearance and willingness to work on classified networks. Hands on experience implementing RMF or STIG hardening on DoD or civilian agency systems. Preferred qualifications Master's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field. Prior role as the technical bridge between a government customer and a third party integrator. Expertise with Docker/Kubernetes and FedRAMP authorized cloud services. Familiarity with Cameo SysML, S1000D, or DOORS Next for model based systems engineering. Demonstrated success influencing cross functional teams without direct line authority.
