Long Description
Role: Lead Java Application Support
Experience: 8 to 10 Years
Location: Remote/Hybrid Model
Job Responsibilities:
1. Support Mission-critical financial applications with sensitive Personally Identifiable Information
(PII data)
2. Ability to lead offshore team with ongoing tasks, prioritize and share regular updates.
3. Monitor production jobs and ensure their scheduled execution.
4. Create Standard Operating Procedure documents.
5. Triage production issues and provide solutions as per Standard Operating Procedure documents
6. Document problem, solutions in the ticketing tools & knowledge base.
7. Communicate appropriately & effectively with business and technical teams.
8. Work well under pressure with a methodical approach to problem solving
9. Prioritize multiple tasks and manage/assign tasks between team members
10. Monitor application health, perform application/service restarts as per Standard Operating
Procedures
11. Monitor, edit, create scheduler jobs
12. Deploy and manage applications, services on Microsoft Windows and cloud environments
13. Identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within the code.
Primary skills that must have for the candidate:
1. Diagnose and resolve production issues related to Java applications.
2. Troubleshoot and analyze core Java code to identify and implement effective solutions.
3. Collaborate with development teams to enhance application performance and reliability.
4. Provide timely and efficient support during incidents, ensuring minimal downtime.
5. Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in application support.
6. Utilize your expertise in Microservices and Spring Boot to optimize system performance.
7. Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and best practices for knowledge sharing.
8. Strong proficiency in core Java programming.
9. Proven experience in troubleshooting and debugging Java applications.
10. In-depth knowledge of Microservices architecture and Spring Boot framework.
11. Solid understanding of production support processes and best practices.
12. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.
13. Effective communication skills to collaborate with development and other teams.
Secondary skills that are good to have for the right candidate:
1. Any of Job schedulers - Autosys or Visual Cron or Control-M or Ansible or Cron
2. Any of the log analyzers - Splunk or Dynatrace or Datadog
3. Any of the application performance monitoring tools like New Relic, AppDynamics or Dynatrace
4. Experience in Kafka and RabbitMQ
5. Cloud, Microservices, Message Queues, NoSQL, CI/CD
Work hours:
1. Should be able to work with distributed teams in different time zones at onshore, offshore
2. Should be working in 24x7 model with rolling shifts
3. Open to supporting the team during weekends/holidays as per the needs.
