Our client is seeking a Technical Lead / Agile Coach to support the launch of multiple technical dojos in a transitioning agile environment. This role is perfect for a hands-on leader who can implement agile best practices, mentor development teams, and demonstrate engineering excellence through Extreme Programming (XP), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
You'll work closely with engineers and developers across various teams, guiding them in adopting agile engineering principles while also writing code to model best practices. This role requires recent hands-on coding experience, leadership skills, and a passion for coaching teams in the agile mindset.

Rate: $85 - $95 / hr. w2
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of agile best practices within multiple technical dojos.
- Coach developers and engineers on XP, TDD, and BDD, providing hands-on demonstrations.
- Actively write code and collaborate with teams to implement agile engineering principles.
- Mentor and train teams in various modern programming languages based on the tech stack.
- Partner with leadership to align agile methodologies with business and technical goals.
- Identify and remove technical and process-related roadblocks in agile adoption.
- Facilitate technical workshops, pairing sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Who We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in a technical leadership role (e.g., Technical Lead, Engineering Manager, Agile Coach with hands-on development experience).
- Strong, recent coding experience in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, .NET, C , Python, JavaScript, Angular, and others.
- Deep expertise in XP, TDD, and BDD, with the ability to teach and apply these methodologies.
- Experience standing up a technical dojo or leading agile coding bootcamps is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, LeSS, etc.) and their practical application.
- Excellent coaching, mentoring, and communication skills with the ability to influence teams and leadership.
- Passion for continuous learning, experimentation, and driving engineering excellence.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience in cloud-based environments and DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and software delivery best practices.
- Agile Coaching or SAFe certifications.
