Job Duties

Operating entirely on revenue from game sales, rather than tax dollars, the Virginia Lottery generates more than $2.0 million per day for Virginia's K-12 public schools. The Virginia Lottery also licenses and regulates casino gaming and mobile sports betting.
The Virginia Lottery, an independent state agency, is currently seeking a Technical Field Representative to join its Gaming Compliance Department.
The Technical Field Representative will:
• Conduct technical inspections of all the gaming devices to support established gaming regulations.
• Assist in the implementation of casinos participating in planning meetings to ensure that all milestones are met, and all technical requirements are complied with in accordance with regulations.
• Continually analyzes directives and processes to ensure compliance with all rules and regulations.
• Utilize the Central Monitoring and Control System in their support of the day-to-day operations of the casino's active gaming floor.
• Utilize the Case Management System while working with the Compliance and Investigations team in gaming device related incidents.
• Support the coin testing of slot machines to ensure that slot machines are properly communicating with the Central Monitoring and Control System.
• Responsible for the administration of the master tracking list of a casino's gaming devices.
• Assist in the oversight of the transporting of all gaming devices in the Commonwealth.
• Support launches of casinos to ensure systems are compliant with laws and regulations and have been properly certified.
• Review and work with Gaming Compliance system and application providers to resolve all issues in a timely manner.
• Support all required software testing with the independent test labs. Works closely with all necessary parties to ensure all required software has been tested prior to being placed in the casino's gaming device.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in information technology field.
• At least two years of experience in progressively technical responsible position.
• Technical experience in inspections of gaming devices.
• Knowledge of casino operations.
• Knowledge of gaming regulations, and internal controls.
• Must be able to effectively analyze, investigate, resolve, and recommend action for improvements and resolution.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
• Acute interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with diverse groups of people and officials.
• Proficient in desktop applications such as, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and audit software.
• Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing, prepare management reports, and make logical and sound decisions in critical, complex, and changing situations.
• Ability to develop and document procedures to create an efficient and effective workflow.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and /or competing tasks and responsibilities.
• Technical experience in inspections of gaming devices.
• Knowledge of casino operations.
• Knowledge of gaming regulations, and internal controls.
• Must be able to effectively analyze, investigate, resolve, and recommend action for improvements and resolution.

Additional Considerations
Experience in Gaming Industry technical experience to include knowledge of industry standard protocols, gaming central systems, casino operations, and gaming regulations preferred.
