Koniag Data Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Technical Editor with a Secret security clearance to support KDS and our government customer at the Pentagon, Arlington, VA. Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: Edits, formats, and proofreads technical reports for publication to Congress, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and the military Services. Reviews, edits, and proofread materials written by others. Ensures drafts are grammatically correct and follow internal guidance for content and styles. Works independently to ensure a quality product on assigned tasks or contributes as part of a team on larger projects, as the situation dictates. Publishes reports using desktop publishing software, including Microsoft Word, Adobe Indesign, and Adobe Acrobat. Adheres to report production and publication schedules and deadlines. Works closely with authors and senior staff throughout the review and publication process. Performs administrative and courier duties as assigned. Reports to Senior Editor/Lead Project Manager; majority of assignments are performed under minimal supervision in accordance with guidance based on internal procedures and conventionally accepted technical writing standards. Required Skills: Education/Experience bachelor's degree in communications/English, and a minimum of three years of experience as a writer and/or editor required. Relevant and equivalent experience may be substituted for degree requirement. Must have strong skills in written communication. The candidate will be highly motivated and work well both independently and in a team environment. Must be a self-starter. Knowledge of Microsoft Word a must; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, a plus. Familiar with GPO Style guide and/or Chicago Manual of Style. Secret Security Clearance Required Professionally/capably interface with senior staff (including GS-15s, O-6s, Senior Executive Service, and personnel from other contracts).
