TECHNICAL DESIGN ASSOCIATE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Technical Design Associate to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation and a passion for technical design. As an Associate Technical Designer, you will support the technical design team by measuring samples, assisting in fittings, and preparing accurate technical packages to help ensure high-quality, production-ready garments. This position will report into our Technical Design Manager

Position Type: Full Time / Non-Exempt Hourly Position

Reporting To: Technical Design Manager / Merchandise & Design Department

Location: Z SUPPLY Headquarters - Costa Mesa, CA

Work Type: HYBRID in Office 4 days / Partial Remote 1 Day

POSITION DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Spec all fit and production samples each day and prep for fitting. Tech Team to assist for back up.

• Prepare and maintain fit lists for scheduled fittings
• Attend fittings and take clear, detailed notes and measurements
• Assist with any QC spec measuring if/when Production is requesting help.
• Able to work closely with other team members to help manage overall workload with regards to construction, fit, approvals, timelines, etc.
• Assist Technical Designers in creating and maintaining technical packages, including measurement specs, construction details, and callouts.
• Enter and maintain measurement data in Full Circle.
• Help create and revise fit comments and communicate revisions to overseas factories
• Support the TD team in ensuring garments align with design intent and fit standards.
• Assist the Technical Design team with various department needs as required

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Technical Design or Pattern Making
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills, with great attention to detail
• Must excel at measuring garments and provide accurate comments and measurements
• Requires fluent knowledge and understanding of a garment spec sheet and POM's.
• Must be a self-starter with a solution-based approach
• Ability to interpret design sketches and translate them into clear technical specifications
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines
• Must be able to work proficiently in Google/Google Drive/Gmail, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Illustrator. Full Circle experience is a plus.
• Experience communicating with vendors overseas is a plus

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

SALARY RANGE

This is an hourly non-exempt position

$28.00 Hour - $35.00 Hour

As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, Z SUPPLY provides a range of compensation for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements. To determine starting pay within the hiring range, we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location, role/level, a candidate's skills, experience, market demands, internal parity and other relevant factors. Flexibility outside of the salary range listed may be considered based on additional skills or qualifications a candidate may possess that may justify additional compensation. Company paid health benefits, PTO, bonus and other various company perks are not included in the salary range listed above and are considered additional compensation.
