Title: Manager, Technical Accounting (Individual Contributor)

A well-established company in the technology industry is seeking a Manager, Technical Accounting to join its Corporate Finance organization. While this is a manager-level role, it is structured as an individual contributor position with high visibility and strategic impact. This role is part of the Technical Accounting and External Reporting team and plays a critical role in maintaining financial reporting integrity, supporting cross-functional initiatives, and advising on complex accounting issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the preparation and submission of SEC filings, including quarterly, annual, and other regulatory reports
- Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders by evaluating and documenting the accounting treatment for significant or complex transactions
- Lead high-priority projects related to business combinations, divestitures, new accounting standards, and evolving financial reporting requirements
- Partner with business units, legal, and finance teams to ensure consistent application of U.S. GAAP and company policy
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (advanced degrees may substitute up to two years of experience; Master's = 1 year, Doctorate = 2 years)
- 7+ years of experience in technical accounting, financial reporting, or audit roles
- At least 5 years of experience at a Big Four accounting firm strongly preferred
- CPA license or international equivalent required
- Background in the technology sector and experience operating within large, complex organizations
- Familiarity with financial systems such as Oracle, Hyperion, or Workiva (WDesk)
- Understanding of SEC regulations and XBRL tagging
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives independently and influence senior decision-makers
