An energy company new to Houston is growing their Accounting team. We are hiring a Manager of SEC and SOX. Outside of the external reporting cycle, you'll get a chance to stretch those internal controls muscles you built in public accounting. Position: Manager of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting
Compensation: $125-150K

Growth Path: Technical Accounting Senior Manager
Reports to: Senior Director of Technical Accounting
Hours: 40-45 hours per week outside of SEC Reporting period
This Job:
- Preparation of SEC reports, could include footnotes, disclosures, XBRL tagging
- Perform Analysis of Financial Statements: P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash flows
- Ensures compliance with SOX and external regulations
- Contract Review, both revenue and vendor
- Review various business transactions and policies for correct accounting treatment
- Complete all of these responsibilities in collaboration with the Senior Director
Qualifications:
- BS Degree is a must, CPA required
- 5+ years of experience in either a publicly traded company or public accounting
- Experience in a SOX (preparation or review)
- Experience in SEC (preparation or review)
- Good excel skills (ability to use lookups, pivots, index matching) - knows how to use data to tell stories in the variance analysis.
