Team Lead Account Manager

Job Overview: Our financial services client is seeking to add a new Team Lead Account Manager to their team. This leadership role is responsible for managing and guiding a team to ensure exceptional service delivery, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. The position requires strong team management skills, industry knowledge, and a focus on delivering an outstanding client experience.

This is a Direct Hire role.

What you will be doing as a Team Lead Account Manager

Team Leadership & Development
  • Provide strong leadership and strategic direction to team members.
  • Coach and mentor team members to support their professional growth and development to include monthly one-on-one meetings to discuss performance
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment through regular communication and engagement.
  • Ensure team adherence to quality and productivity standards through effective monitoring and support.
  • Maintain comprehensive employee documentation, including performance records and development plans.
Client Service & Account Management
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of work delivered to clients.
  • Process and document client requests promptly and accurately.
  • Conduct annual insurance reviews and recommend appropriate additional coverages.
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding coverage, policy changes, and status updates.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Deliver a consistently high level of client service by staying informed about new products, services, and technologies.
Operational Excellence
  • Oversee day-to-day workflow management and assign tasks to team members as needed.
  • Review, refine, and implement process improvements that enhance team efficiency and interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Ensure deadlines for new, renewal, and project work are met consistently.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic client files per agency standards.
  • Collaborate with leaders across departments to implement initiatives that improve productivity and the overall client experience.
  • Support and contribute to quality assurance initiatives and performance evaluations.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare and review reports ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
  • Work with analysts and department leadership to understand and meet business requirements.
  • Use performance data and feedback from carriers and clients to drive improvement efforts.
Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Team Lead Account Manager
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years of commercial lines insurance experience required
  • Property & Casualty License required
  • Experience leading account managers preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Familiarity with insurance terminology and documentation
  • Strong customer service background
