We are working with a welcoming and forward-thinking school in Tunbridge Wells seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education and eager to support pupils in reaching their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside class teachers to support the planning and delivery of engaging lessons.

  • Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups to boost understanding and progress.

  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment.

  • Support pupils with a range of needs, including Special Educational Needs (SEND) and English as an Additional Language (EAL).

  • Help monitor pupil progress and contribute to assessment and observation records.

  • Prepare learning materials and assist with classroom organisation and displays.

  • Supervise pupils during break times and other non-classroom activities, as required.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have prior experience working with children or young people in a school or educational setting.

  • Be approachable, reliable, and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

  • Show initiative and flexibility, with the ability to adapt support to meet the needs of different learners.

  • Have strong communication skills and a good understanding of safeguarding practices.

  • Possess a minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND or behavioural needs.

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

  • Knowledge of the UK national curriculum.
