Description:

Birch Agency is seeking Teacher of the Visually Impaired to join our team. $1,000 Sign on Bonus.

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired to join our team and work in the Philadelphia, PA area. As a teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds and futures of our students. Your responsibilities will include creating engaging lesson plans, providing instruction, and fostering a positive learning environment. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards

  • Provide instruction in various subjects, adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and growth

  • Assess student progress and provide feedback on their academic performance

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve instructional materials

  • Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain a productive learning environment

  • Provide guidance and support to students, acting as a mentor and role model

  • Collaborate with parents/guardians to address student needs and concerns

  • Stay updated on current educational practices and trends

Qualifications:

  • PA Teacher of the Visually Impaired Certified

  • Experience working with students in an educational setting

  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles

  • Proficiency in instructional design and curriculum development

  • Familiarity with classroom management techniques

  • Experience working with students who have special needs (eg, visually impaired education, speech therapy)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to mentor and inspire students
