The PreK Lead Teacher will be accountable for the care and supervision of children. Their primary responsibilities are the safety and well-being of children in their care, but they also provide instruction and educational support in preparation for Kindergarten.
Essential Functions- Leads the classroom staff to implement a program of instruction that adheres to the school's philosophy, goals, and objectives
- Takes initiative in the classroom, and prepares the learning environment daily, including centers and activities
- Maintains a clean and organized classroom daily
- Leads classroom management and orderly transitions
- Uses positive words and actions in all communication and interaction with the students
- Implements daily activities with children
- Prepare crafts and activities
- Prepare a learning environment daily including centers and activities
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration
- Assist with snack, lunch, and rest time
- Communicates with parents
Position Qualifications- Minimum of a College diploma and 90-hour child care certification - able to be lead teacher qualified by the MSDE Office of Child Care
- MSDE Certification or willing to obtain certification
- An appreciation for young students and their families
- Willingness to support the mission of The Catholic Faith and the Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Schools
