As one of our Tax Professionals, you will be responsible for establishing contact with tax agencies and updating case files on behalf of our clients to negotiate and resolve back tax debt. Practice in compliance with all federal and State tax agencies is required. Your experience and roles would include obtaining release of levies, negotiating payment plans, meeting deadlines, and preparing financials to best help represent our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate directly with client personnel, including operations, finance, and accounting.
- Assist with drafting opinion letters, responses to IRS inquiries, IRS ruling requests, and writing other technical memoranda.
- Must be a licensed Enrolled Agent with active credentials.
- At least 2 years as an Enrolled Agent (preferred) with experience in tax resolution matters (offer in compromise, installment agreements, currently not collectible status, levy release, innocent spouse, etc.).
- Strong communication (verbal & written) skills and excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent multitasking and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Prepare & review financial documents to determine the client's current financial position & the best resolution options for them.
- Communicate with the IRS and state tax agencies to determine the status of client's tax debt and secure collections holds.
- Release wage garnishments and bank levies to provide immediate relief to clients.
- Regularly communicate with team and clients about their case & effectively provide them guidance.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and manage multiple project assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Obtaining and analyzing tax transcripts.
- Reviewing and analyzing financial documents to identify the best possible resolution for our clients.
- Maintaining proper notes in our systems.
- Regularly establishing contact with the IRS and/or state tax agencies.
- Providing realistic timelines and case updates to clients and owner on a daily and weekly basis.
- Enrolling clients into tax relief programs.
