International Tax Director - Kent County, RI
We are seeking an International Tax Director to join our team in Kent County, RI. This role involves preparing and reviewing U.S. tax returns for inbound and outbound companies, as well as high-net-worth individuals with foreign income and investments. The ideal candidate will provide strategic tax consulting, assist with U.S. GAAP tax reporting, and manage international tax compliance and planning engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review U.S. tax returns for businesses and individuals with international tax obligations.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. international tax regulations, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8992, 8993, 1116, 1118, 926, 8865, 8858, 8621, and 114/8938.
- Consult with clients to assess the impact of U.S. and foreign tax laws on entity structuring, transactions, and operations.
- Assist audit teams with U.S. GAAP tax reporting for clients with international subsidiaries.
- Manage and mentor staff, providing technical training and guidance on international tax matters.
- Collaborate with leadership on business development, proposals, and expanding service offerings.
- Conduct research on tax laws across multiple states and international jurisdictions.
Qualifications:
- CPA or JD required
- 10-20 years of experience in public accounting & private industry with a focus on international tax
- Strong technical knowledge of international tax compliance and advisory services.
- Experience developing proposals and presenting to clients.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be within commuting distance of Kent County, RI, with the ability to work on-site 2-3 days per week.
