Tax Manager

Our Global client is seeking a dynamic Tax Manager to collaborate with their VP of Tax and support the growing complexities of their business operations both in the U.S. and Canada. Our client continues its trajectory of growth, and this role will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with local, state, federal, and international tax obligations while driving process improvements across the Tax Department. The Tax Manager will serve as a key liaison between internal teams, external partners, government agencies, and consultants, helping optimize efficiency, enhance communication, and strengthen the department's ability to meet current and future organizational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and project manage existing and future tax initiatives, ensuring progress and results are effectively communicated to management.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Tax to plan, manage, and further develop all facets of the company's tax processes.
  • Ensure timely filing of all local, state, and federal taxes for the organization.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance company tax procedures.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Tax Department, company leadership, external consultants, GHQ, and government agencies.
  • Review and assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns.
  • Address and respond promptly to tax notices from various jurisdictions.
  • Prepare and/or review annual tax provision calculations.
  • Support federal and state tax audits, inquiries, and notices in coordination with management.
  • Maintain and regularly update the company's tax calendar, ensuring deadlines are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, MS in Taxation is a plus, CPA a plus.
  • Prior Big 4 experience highly preferred.
  • Proven oral, written, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems, preferably SAP.
  • Ability to cultivate strong, collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a track record of driving tasks to completion.
  • Strong team-player mindset and demonstrated ability to work effectively in group settings.
  • Detail-oriented, with an organized and efficient approach to record-keeping.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
