The Tax Manager manages the delivery of the full ranges of tax services for multiple companies and individuals, assuming responsibility for client consultation and directing tax-related projects and returns, including scheduling, profitability, staffing, research, and in some instances billing.


ENAGEMENT MANAGEMENT

  • Produce and review tax documents in a timely manner, ensuring client deliverables meet expectations and deadlines
  • Effectively prioritize workload for self, Seniors, and Staff, seeking assistance from peers when needed
  • Prepare project/return budget and monitor to ensure project is completed within budgeted time allowance, keeping Partner(s) informed of any projected overages or additional billings
  • Review data and resolve technical tax issues, responding to inquiries from the IRS and other authorities
  • Identify and implement solutions to improve engagement efficiency and profitability CLIENT SERVICE
  • Own client relationships, answering client emails and phone calls within a timely, professional manner with a solution-oriented approach, preferably within one business day
  • Proactively solve client- and/or engagement-related problems, keeping Partner(s) informed of developments and solution

Required Skills + Abilities

  • Ability to prepare, review, and oversee federal and multi-state tax returns, working with a variety of entities such as corporations, partnerships, estates, and trusts across various industries
  • Strong technical background with an understanding of current tax code and excellent analytical skills
  • Proficient in time management with an emphasis on the importance of meeting deadlines while managing multiple projects and client
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner in all mediums
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail and follow-through with excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated high level of professionalism, particularly in interactions with colleagues and clients
  • Ability to switch from proactive, independent work to collaborative, integrated team member as the task or project demands
  • Familiarity with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) and experience with industry software (CCH preferred) Education, Certifications, + Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting preferred
  • CPA certification required
    • 6+ years of experience of progressive tax consulting experience in public accounting
