POSITION OVERVIEW
Korn Ferry is exclusively partnering with a global, diversified company with a long term focus in the food and manufacturing sectors to hire a Tax Manager. This newly created role offers significant growth potential in a rapidly expanding company.
Reporting to the Global Tax Director, the Tax Manager will handle U.S. domestic tax compliance, planning, and reporting. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with tax regulations, minimizing liabilities, and identifying tax-saving opportunities. The Tax Manager will work closely with the finance team and external advisors to implement effective tax strategies and oversee at least one direct report.
Success in this role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and collaboration with various departments.
Location: Berks County area (90% remote with office visits on a per need basis)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead Tax Operations:
- Manage and review federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Ensure accurate and timely filings and reporting of tax positions.
- Oversee tax provisions and disclosures per ASC 740 and U.S. GAAP.
Ensure Compliance:
- Monitor adherence to tax laws.
- Implement measures to minimize non-compliance risks.
Strategize Tax Planning:
- Develop tax-efficient strategies to reduce liabilities.
- Optimize tax positions across jurisdictions.
Provide Expert Guidance:
- Conduct tax research and stay updated on regulations.
- Offer technical tax guidance on complex issues.
Monitor Legislation:
- Track changes in tax laws and assess impacts.
- Recommend adjustments to tax strategies.
Manage Audits:
- Coordinate interactions with tax authorities.
- Respond to audits and inquiries with proper documentation.
Implement Tax Software:
- Lead implementation and optimization of tax software.
- Collaborate with IT and finance teams.
Support Business Initiatives:
- Assist in tax-efficient structures for transactions.
- Work with legal, finance, and business teams.
Train Internal Stakeholders:
- Develop and deliver tax training.
- Foster a culture of compliance and proactive management.
Enhance Processes:
- Continuously improve tax processes and systems.
- Implement best practices and leverage technology.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in U.S. domestic tax, preferably in a multinational company or related expertise directly from a public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes
- Experience with tax compliance, planning, and reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or a Masters degree in Taxation is strongly preferred
