Essential Duties & Functions

Tax Planning and Compliance: Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
Preparation and Filing: Oversee the preparation and filing of all local, state, corporate income tax returns, state premium taxes and partnership tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Audits and Investigations: Manage tax audits and investigations, providing documentation and support to external auditors.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate tax risks, advising management on potential exposures and strategies.
Financial Reporting: Collaborate with the financial reporting team to prepare tax-related financial reports, including but not limited to, tax provisions, memorandums on uncertain tax positions, valuation allowance on deferred tax asset and financial statements on both a GAAP and Statutory basis
Research and Analysis: =Stay updated on tax laws and regulations, conducting research and analysis to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies.
Team Management: Lead and mentor the tax team, providing guidance and support to ensure professional development and high performance.
Advisory Services: Provide tax advice to management and other departments within the organization, including mergers, acquisitions, transfer pricing and other business transactions.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive tax records and documentation to support filings and audits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master's degree or CPA certification is highly desirable.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management or a related field, with a proven track record of handling complex tax issues.
Extensive knowledge of tax laws, regulations, financial reporting for taxes (both GAAP and Statutory basis) and compliance requirements.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Proficient in tax preparation software and financial management systems.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing tax filings and documentation.
Strong ethical standards and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
