JOB DESCRIPTION:
In this role, you will ensure compliance with employment tax filing and payment obligations, manage the integration of employer tax accounts, and consult with clients on account status and discrepancies. You will act as the authorized representative between clients and taxing authorities, resolve tax-related issues, and maintain good standing with tax authorities. Additionally, you will provide support and guidance on PEO reporting and employment tax matters to clients and partners.
- Analyze and manage client tax accounts: After implementation, ensure employer tax accounts are accurately integrated into PEO tax services. Regularly review accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Collaborate and consult: Work closely with clients, tax authorities, and ADP business partners to manage client tax accounts. Provide direction on critical data gaps, effective filing status, business changes, and outstanding tax discrepancies to ensure compliance with employer tax filing requirements.
- Account management: Lead efforts to ensure accurate and timely employment tax filings and payments. Thoroughly research and resolve complex escalated tax account matters to reduce additional liability and meet service requirements.
- Research and resolve issues: Manage maintenance reports to proactively identify and resolve discrepancies before tax returns are submitted. Monitor tax cases to ensure commitments, deadlines, and service requirements are met.
- Support and guidance: Provide internal and external clients with support and guidance on escalated employment tax matters. Explain implications of changing employment tax laws and identify opportunities to reduce employment tax liabilities through voluntary contributions, tax credits, exemptions, etc.
- Coordination and communication: Partner with agencies and ADP internal partners to ensure tax accounts meet all employment tax obligations and remain in good standing. Communicate account IDs, rates, status, and regulatory changes to internal and external clients as required.
- Special projects and tasks: Actively participate in tax projects and special tasks as assigned. Assist with tax rate protests, abatements, account reconciliations, and audits.
- Efficiency and client service: Identify changes that drive efficiency for tax account management and enhance the client service experience. Maintain POAs, tax documents, and employer/agency responses in compliance with agency requirements.
- Internal coordination: Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely processing of government forms. Provide third-party administrators with tax account data and responses as outlined in service level agreements to ensure accurate and timely filings and support.
These responsibilities aim to ensure efficient, compliant, and proactive management of client tax accounts, enhancing the overall client service experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:
- 3 - 5 Years of directly related experience
- Prior payroll or tax filing experience required
- Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent in education and experience with a Major Area of Concentration in Business or related field
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus
- Strong client relationship skills including the ability to influence client and guide the client to best solution to help resolve their client needs
- Proficient using Microsoft Office
Compensation:
$28/hr to $30/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
